Back in 1995 G-Sport started selling the original G-sport GLAND hub guard which was little more than a rubber backed steel washer. But the concept of a hub guard quickly proved useful and G-Sport have continued to refine the concept to this day. G-Sport believe that hub guards should not interfere with the dropout spacing of your frame or fork because that causes bent axles and wheel slipping problems. Now the G-Sport Gland hub guard is in it’s third incarnation, the principal of protecting the spokes as well as the hub and using the immense strength of the spokes for structural support is well proven. The G-Sport Gland 3 hub guard is actually made from proprietary plastic to keep the weight low and spread impacts evenly whilst grinding with as little resistance as possible. The G-Sport Gland 3 hub guard is fixed to the spokes via cable ties or nylon webbing using the unique bobbles to keep the guard central and fixed.
